Release Notes

Welcome to ACDSee Pro for Mac beta. This document contains the release notes for beta version 1.1. The following sections describe the beta release in detail and provide late-breaking or other information.

This is an early release for wide evaluation and usage. Keep in mind that we are continuing to work on ACDSee Pro for Mac and things may change in the future.

IMPORTANT NOTES, PLEASE READ

The beta is intended to be used for testing and feedback purposes.

• We recommend using test images only as you try ACDSee Pro for Mac. This is a very early ‘beta’ quality build and you should always work on duplicates of files that are securely backed up.
• The image management settings you select will not be transferable, as this beta version may not be fully compatible with subsequent versions of ACDSee.
• The ACDSee Pro for Mac database will not be migrated to the final released version of ACDSee Pro for Mac.
• Metadata associated with the original file may not carry over to the subsequent file saved from Pro for Mac.
• Help documentation is not available for the beta.
• Customer and technical support is not available to users during the beta. Please report any issues encountered on the product forums (http://community.acdsee.com/forums). See Other Resources below.
• Additional known issues are listed below.

Beta Period

ACDSee Pro for Mac beta will install and launch for an extended beta period. This beta will expire on February 19, 2010. Please provide feedback through the forums at http://community.acdsee.com/forums.

General Program Notes

Known Issues

• Open With right-click command may not show the same applications that are enabled to open a specific file as Finder.  If your application is not enabled via the right-click menu, drag and drop the file directly to the application on the doc from either Manage or View mode.
• When renaming categories in the Properties | Database panel the category tree in Organize panel may not refresh properly. If this happens restart the application.
• WIA is not supported for directly moving/copying photos from your camera
• EXIF-GPS. ACDSee Pro rounds GPS coordinates when rotating or converting images
• EXIF - Camera Maker Notes section is not preserved when rotating or converting images in ACDSee Pro Beta
• IPTC info is not preserved when using Batch Convert to TIFF
• Database info is not preserved when copying images
• Database info is not preserved when using File -> Save As image
• Database info is not preserved when copying folder with images
• Batch Resize. Database info is not preserved when resizing images
• Batch Resize. PPI and Embedded Color Profile settings are not preserved when resizing images
• Batch Convert File Format. Embedded color profile and PPI are not preserved after conversion
• File -> Save As. PPI and Embedded Color Profile are not preserved
• Files, which contain “/” in filename, cannot be opened
• Batch Rename. Problem with renaming images using “/” character
• Impossible to perform any file operation with files which contain "/" character
• Problem with renaming folders with a dot in filename
• Problem with copying images on shared folders

Supported RAW cameras depend on the latest RAW updates from Apple that have been installed on your computer.
