IMPORTANT NOTES, PLEASE READ
The beta is intended to be used for testing and feedback purposes.
- We recommend using test images only when you try ACDSee Pro 3 Beta. This is a beta quality build and you should always work on duplicates of files that are securely backed up.
- The image management and processing settings you select will not be transferable, as this beta version is not fully compatible with previous or subsequent versions of ACDSee Pro. The settings from Beta 1 will also not transfer to Beta 2.
- The ACDSee Pro 3 Beta database will not be migrated to the final released version of Pro 3. The Beta 1 database does not transfer to Beta 2.
- Pro 3 Beta will not overwrite or interfere with ACDSee products that are already installed on the same computer.
- Help documentation is available for ACDSee Pro 3 Beta but is not considered final.
- The beta is not supported by Customer or Technical support. Please report any issues encountered on the product forums (http://community.acdsee.com/forums). See the Other Resources section below.
- For optimal performance of ACDSee Online upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or higher and enable cookies in the browser.
- Once you have an ACDSee Online account, you can access it through Online mode in ACDSee Pro or a web browser at http://www.acdseeonline.com/.
- Additional known issues are listed below.
Beta Period
ACDSee Pro 3 Beta will install and launch for an extended beta period. This beta will expire October 30, 2009. Please provide feedback through the forums at http://community.acdsee.com/forums.
Known Issues
- Layered TIFF files created by Photoshop will have their layers merged (flattened) when embedding ACDSee database information.
- A 16 bit PSP file from Paint Shop Pro will cause Pro 3 Beta to crash. Disable the ID_PSP.apl plug-in as a workaround.
- Browsing and/or editing huge TIFF, PSD and other file formats over 50 MB may cause Pro 3 Beta to perform unreliably.
- The Backup database name cannot be longer than 16 characters.
- Maker Notes for some cameras are lost when converting RAW images to JPG or TIFF format.
- A crash occurs after pasting files with long file names (180 characters).
- Device Detector may crash when a Nokia mobile phone is connected to the computer over BlueTooth.
- Running the catalog wizard through several thousand images may cause Pro 3 Beta to crash.
- The Thumbnail strip if hidden or minimized does not initialize to correct state.
- Pro 3 Beta will always browse to the Developed folder if you try to Copy/Paste a developed RAW image in the View mode.
- The View mode arrow keys (left/right) stop working if you play with View mode toolbar zoom controls or after clicking any of the buttons in the Bottom Toolbar - "Add to Image Basket", "Rotate Left", "Rotate Right", "Fit to Image", "Actual Size" etc.
- When using Advanced color the image may not update after adjusting the curve points.
- The color of an image developed in Pro 3 Beta 1 may not match the image color if you open it in Pro 3 Beta 2 Develop mode as a result of an improvement to the Advanced color control algorithm.
Online mode
- Your upload may fail depending on your connection speed. A fast connection speed is recommended.
- Aperture and shutter speed information are not correctly displayed for some images.
- The bar with Progress Indicator and Transfer Manager link may disappear after minimizing the local computer pane and changing the window size.
- You cannot upload empty subfolders.
- Selective Browsing is not supported in Online mode.
- Your Internet browser may cache ACDSeeonline.com based on your browser settings. To refresh the Web site to the latest version, press Ctrl+F5 to clear your cache.
