ACD Systems Expands Presence in French Photography Market with Micro Application Partnership

PARIS (October 29, 2009) – ACD Systems International Inc., one of the world’s leading developers and marketers of digital imaging software, today announced its partnership with Micro Application, a leading distributor of photography software to the French retail market.

Micro Application, founded in 1981, features a wide distribution network that includes major retailers, multi-specialists and independent photo shops. Its catalog of photo software products are targeted to professional photographers and amateur enthusiasts alike.

“We are looking forward to working with Micro Application and using its vast network to introduce and distribute our newest digital imaging products to the French market,” said Mark Franklin, ACD Systems’ president. “France is known for its rich history of developing world-renowned artists and photographers, who will realize greater time savings and organization with our software. The performance and high value to price ratio of ACD Systems’ products will make them a popular choice for French photographers.”

“Micro Application is very pleased to have ACD Systems as one of our new partners,” said Eric Kalasz, managing director. “The company’s expertise and reputation enriches our range of high quality consumer photo software, enabling us to provide professional-level software to users of digital SLR cameras, a growing market segment. Indeed, amateur and professional photographers alike will be drawn to the rich functionality offered by ACD Systems’ products.”

Through the partnership agreement, Micro Application will distribute and sell to the French market the latest ACD Systems’ products, including the new release of its flagship photography product:

ACDSee™ Pro Photo Manager 3, a new version of ACD Systems’ leading digital image management software that retains the same fast and flexible features photographers rely upon and incorporates an enhanced user experience that delivers a professional level of support at a tremendous value.

Building on its reputation as a leading viewer, browser and organizer, Pro 3 brings new advanced speed capabilities into the editing and online stages of workflow as well. For example, the unique process mode integrates two highly prized capabilities – nondestructive image editing and precise pixel-level editing – into one seamless application. Users can take advantage of the new mode to dynamically adjust images of any format, from RAW files to TIFFs and JPEGs, and easily complete both global nondestructive adjustments and pixel-level editing on any image in one intuitive workflow.

Pro 3 was tested by more than 10,000 professional photographers worldwide during the development process, and designed in consultation with an advisory board of existing users to ensure continuity with previous versions of the digital imaging software. The French version will be released in late Fall 2009.
