ACD Systems Appoints George Mitchell as Interim Chief Financial Officer
VICTORIA, British Columbia – Feb. 10, 2006 – ACD Systems International Inc. (TSX: ASA), makers of ACDSee™ photo management software and Canvas™ technical illustration software, today announced that George Mitchell has been appointed interim chief financial officer as the company continues its executive search to fill this position permanently.
“I am pleased that Mr. Mitchell is joining ACD in the role of chief financial officer at this time. He has extensive financial knowledge from over thirty years in global business, and industry knowledge as a member of our board since 2002,” said Doug Vandekerkhove, chairman, chief executive office and president of ACD Systems. “We look forward to working with Mr. Mitchell.”
Mr. Mitchell brings extensive experience to the role, including senior positions with government, businesses and professional practices. As a senior partner with Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte & Touche), he specialized in tax work, mergers, acquisitions and financings. Mr. Mitchell then assumed a role as president and major shareholder of a large retail business that was subsequently sold to a major oil company. Most recently, he has been operating a consulting business to help companies obtain financing and to advise on business matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
