ACDSee Now Available on U3 Smart Drives, Delivering Secure, Powerful Photo Management on the Go

VICTORIA, British Columbia – Mar. 30, 2006 – ACD Systems International Inc. (TSX: ASA) – Get ACDSee™ in the palm of your hand. ACD Systems International Inc. (TSX:ASA) today announced that its award-winning ACDSee Photo Manager software is now available for the U3™ smart drive computing platform. ACDSee for U3 can be carried on any U3 smart drive, allowing users convenient access to photo management tools and personal files, data and preferences, all on a device no larger than a pack of gum. Photography enthusiasts can organize, enhance and share their images from a friend or family member’s computer, or from an airport lounge or Internet cafe, with unprecedented mobility and security.

“In a matter of months U3 has evolved into a best-of-breed standard, reaching out to an ever-growing software community,” said U3 Chief Executive Officer Kate Purmal. “With the addition of ACDSee to the U3 platform, ACD has established itself as a standard for the next generation of portable photo management and storage devices.”

U3 smart drives transform the ubiquity of the USB flash drive into a private, portable and protected workspace that simply plugs into any personal computer running Microsoft Windows® 2000 or XP. ACDSee for U3 allows photography enthusiasts to manage their growing photo collections quickly, easily, and with impressive results, all directly from their U3 smart drives. Users can instantly view, organize and edit their photos, share pictures online or on their mobile phones, generate Flash and PDF slide shows, and manage their camera’s memory card storage, without compromising functionality or privacy. When the U3 smart drive is disconnected from the computer’s local hard drive, no images or personal information is left behind.

“ACDSee fans can now take the same photo management power, from their desktop, to wherever they want – vacations, business trips or to a friend’s house down the street. ACDSee for U3 is there to help you manage your photos,” said Bill Sequeira, chief operating officer for ACD Systems. “With ACDSee for U3, photographers can manage and share their memories from anywhere in the world, with anyone in the world.”

Analyst firm Gartner has predicted that USB flash drive shipments will reach nearly 150 million units by 2008. Already, consumers have more than 30 different U3 smart drives to choose from, all capable of carrying and launching ACDSee for U3 and other U3 smart applications.
